Tags indicating more specific age

I have preferences which are not met by the current tag structure here, and I have some ideas for that. The main concern to me is age. Thus far the majority of the material I've uploaded is Ayanami Rei, who is 14 years old both in appearance and canonical character info.

We have "MILF" tags for women canonically known to be mothers, and women who are simply more mature in age and/or appearance. And conversely we have "loli" tags for prepubertal girls. Posts such as post #207446 , post #209417 , and post #261110 make me think there should be some kind of tag for girls between loli and adult. I prefer girls around 14-15 years, and I want to be able to search for a corresponding tag. However, I have been told that most anime girls are made to look like teens, even if they aren't, which is true. Then there is the high probability of "tagging wars" breaking out for girls who's age is unknown, where some people think she's older or younger than most people think.

One idea for a solution I have (a partial solution anyway) is that the age of girls should be tagged only if it is known, for particular characters. So Ayanami would be tagged as 14_yo, but a page from some doujinshi wouldn't be labeled since generally doujin characters' ages are unknown.

This is just one idea, and it probably isn't great. But I would like to see girls' ages tagged somehow to satisfy my longing for junior high girls, and my OCD-ness. So if any of you have other ideas, talk about it.

No offense but I don't see the point of this tag.
I think you should tag what you see.
For example: let's say Dizzy, canonical she is 3 years old, but here, obviously, we can't tag her as loli.
That's my opinion. Is not a bad idea, but I don't see for doing that here. (bad english, etc...)

I also don't see any good such tag would bring. But I do see unending discussions about some characters ages...
Age is actually irrelevant in anime/manga universe, but maybe we could think of something related to junior high girls...
Maybe a "teen" tag or similar for girls who are no longer loli but not yet mature women...(Still, that's higly controversial in anime/manga universe too...)

Eh, but Danbooru tags are based purely on appearance.

ayanami_rei, 14 years old.
sakurano_otoha, 17 years old.

Besides, tags are used only to describe an image regardless of canon, like if in a Hatsune Miku pic her hair is blue instead of turquoise it gets tagged blue_hair regardless.
milf isn't used for canonically mature characters, it's used for mature-LOOKING characters. It's all about appearance.

Imagine if you were to start tagging images with 14_yo or likes_chocolate. It'd be a nightmare worse than the subjective tags.

You are all probably right about the uselessness of pointing out characters' canonical ages. I am too meticulous about these things; a few days ago I was actually considering posting a thread with the idea of making girls' sock tags more specific (black_socks, lacy_socks, etc.), but decided against it.

However, Sigfried666's idea of a "teen" tag sounds alright. I actually commented a few days ago on one of the pics I used as an example about that. As you can see, the "teen" tag is pretty much not used at all. I'm not sure what it's for. Of course, "teen" specifies age, and as you all mentioned, age is irrelevant in anime. But we could make a wiki entry saying that the "teen" tag is a reference to appearance.

Ideas? Because although I suppose you're right about not tagging specific ages, I still think we should have something.

Loli is only used for sexual images, however, so it's not the same thing as you're proposing. Milf is questionable too, since it's used so infrequently - 265 images, when no doubt there are tens of thousands of images that could theoretically get it. It's not necessarily canonical either.

We have 'young' and 'adult' but they're largely meant to be used to indicate that a character is being displayed as something other than their official anime/manga/game/etc appearance.

I've always opposed getting into the messy business of tagging by age group, and I haven't changed my mind. Especially since a 'teen' tag would be about 75% of the images on danbooru.

As for using official ages, I never really liked this either because good lawd, official anime ages are absurd and can never be used as a basis for tagging anything.

Yeah, I think post #229493 alone is plenty of evidence we shouldn't ever be tagging anything by canonical age.

I'm with you on precision tagging (I once suggested tagging the color of clothes), but this is a quagmire that will just cause endless arguing and be useless for all practical purposes.

jxh2154, I agree with you that tagging by age group can be "messy business", but at the same time, looking at the examples I posted, I find it hard to accept that there isn't some tag we can come up with to label pics of girls who are quite obviously still...developing...that would cause relatively few problems. Not 75% of pics on danbooru, but the ones which are more like the examples I posted (which might be like 10%). My main concern is just that if I want to find more pics of girls like this, there isn't anything I can search for.

Then again, since I'm probably part of the only 1% who cares, even if we do decide on such a tag, it'll be me who has to go through every pic on danbooru and tag all the ones I see, thus it will be no help to me anyway.

I know everyone seems to be pretty much against what I've laid out so far, but those are just ideas. Any variations?

Edit: I just thought of something, which involves not tagging estimated ages or age groups, but characteristics traditionally associated with age groups, which are more objective. The particular age group I'm talking about might be covered by the "skinny" tag well, (which isn't used often but is gaining use lately I think) as well as the "petite" tag (also not used much.) In other words, people could simply be more specific about girls' proportions.
