An image drawn in shades of a single color. It doesn't have to be just black and white; it could be another color such as sepia, red, blue, green, etc.

If the image only contains black, white and/or shades of grey, also tag with greyscale. For non-greyscale monochrome pictures, add the appropriate color tag, such as red theme, blue theme, green theme etc.

Monochrome and partially colored are mutually exclusive. For monochrome pictures with just a bit of color, use spot color.
If the image has a range of colors but appears grayed out or washed out, see muted colors and pale colors.

If an image consists of multiple monochromatic parts with each part in a different color, use multiple monochrome instead of monochrome.

Comics and doujinshi are often monochrome.
