warrior
A fighter from the ancient or medieval era. Unlike soldiers, warriors aren't part of an organized army or professional military and don't wear standardized military uniforms or armor.
Often clad in bits of armor and wielding a melee weapon, such as a sword or axe. Warriors are often a character archetype in various role-playing games and fantasy series.
